So what in the heck is all this? This is a new adventure, following a revitalised interest in photography with the advent of the digital era. In the late seventies, I played with photography using rangefinder cameras (Zorki 4k) and SLRs (Olympus OM-10) and doing a little B&W developing. In the mid eighties I got married to Judi and then had two lovely children (Ben and Rebecca) which led my photography to be mainly family shots. Whilst some of these are quite good, they are not what I really like to take. After a long search and study of the available digital cameras, I bought an Olympus C50Z on impulse at an airport in December 2002 - much to the amusement of my then work colleagues who were convinced I was going to look forever. This simple purchase reinvigourated my creative juices and I have had a fabulous time with it since. So much did I enjoy this that I purchased a Nikon D70 in July 2004 following a change of employer. My photos have been on the web for a while, but discovering Flickr and Blogging provides an interesting way to play avoiding the bondage of ratings. Most of my photos remain on my harddrive and are unsen - this is what led me to start a photoblog in May 2005 using Flickr and Blogspot - encouraged by Lara Barrett. Having convinced myself that I will keep it up, I have transferred my own space at the end of July and this site which is powered by PixelPost - which I can only reccommend. |
I add one photo a day as you can see from the site Calendar and I am very good at following up the sites of those who take the trouble to comment here - so please leave a comment and call back tomorrow!
